Education Foundation fundraiser Friday

The All In For Education-Sheboygan Public Education Foundation fundraiser will be held Friday, Oct. 23, at The Bull at Pinehurst Farms, Sheboygan Falls.

The event includes a Texas hold'em poker tournament, barbeque buffet dinner, silent auction, raffle and prizes for all participants.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; the buffet dinner will be served from 6 to 8 p.m.; and play begins at 7:30 p.m.

The cost is $75 per person. Proceeds will benefit the Sheboygan Public Education Foundation.

Homemade pizza sale at Hope Church

Hope Church, 612 Ontario Ave., Sheboygan, will hold a homemade pizza fundraiser to help support its new partnership with Kids Hope USA to read and work with at-risk elementary-aged kids in the community.

Pizzas will be made at the church on Saturday, Nov. 28 with pick-up scheduled for noon that day. Delivery is available.

DeRuyter and Grams graduate from boot camp

FR Danielle A. DeRuyter graduated from eight weeks of boot camp at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill., on Oct. 2.

DeRuyter now will attend "A" School at Great Lakes for 14 weeks of skilled training as a hull maintenance technician (HT).

DeRuyter, a 2005 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School, is the daughter of Kevin and Kathy DeRuyter of Waldo and the granddaughter of Charles Williams and Richard and Dorothy Bahr, all of Sheboygan.

Also on Oct. 2, Marine Pfc Ryan T. Grams graduated from Echo Company (Company E), 2nd Battalion, Platoon 2109, after 13 weeks of bootcamp at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego.

The 2009 Appleton West graduate will attend four weeks of infantry training at Camp Pendleton and then 10 weeks as a Refrigeration and air conditioning technician mechanic in Maryland.

He is the son of Gary and Jan Grams of Appleton, and grandson of Charles Williams, Richard and Dorothy Bahr, and Marie and the late Donald Grams, all of Sheboygan.
