John Q. Adams

John Q. Adams, 93, Plover, formerly of Almond, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living Facility in Plover.

He was born Dec. 3, 1915, in the township of Almond, Portage County, the son of Vernon and Bertha (Bibby) Adams. He married Violet L. Miner on Nov. 8, 1934, in the township of Belmont, Portage County. She preceded him in death Aug. 20, 2007.

John had farmed in the Almond area his entire life. He was a past member of the former Almond Masonic Lodge.

John is survived by his daughter, Margaret (Harlan) Bender of Bancroft; and granddaughter, Wendy (Jeff) Rowsam of Denmark. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet; his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

A private graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at the Almond Village Cemetery with the Rev. David Leistra, Almond United Methodist Church, officiating.

The Hardell-Holly Funeral Home of Almond is assisting the family with arrangements.
