De Pere residents Ward and Gayle Anderson were honored by the University of Wisconsin-Superior Alumni Association at a recognition dinner Oct. 8 on campus.

The Andersons received the Edward and Betty Kossak Award, which honors those who have made significant contributions in time, energy, leadership and support to further the goals of UW-Superior.

The Andersons have volunteered many hours to assist the university, in addition to their financial support.

They established the Northeast Wisconsin Alumni Chapter in the Green Bay area, represented the university at college fairs in their region to encourage prospective students to attend UW-Superior, urged local legislators to support UW-Superior building projects and budgets, and organized alumni events in the Green Bay area.

Ward Anderson is a 1970 graduate of UW-Superior.
