Two people have been airlifted after crashes since early Sunday morning.
A 19-year-old Plainfield man was arrested for operating while intoxicated causing injury and causing bodily harm by reckless driving after a crash that injured a total of four people early Monday morning.
Rosendo Segundo fled on foot after the collision and was found in Lower Whiting Park, said Capt. Dale O'Kray of the Portage County Sheriff's Department.
The vehicle Segundo was driving struck a utility pole at a high rate of speed. The car spun around, causing all passengers to be ejected from the vehicle, according to a report from the Portage County Sheriff's Department.
When deputies arrived, three people were laying on the ground and one was unresponsive, the report said. Debris was strewn across the roadway and power lines were down on Water Street after the accident. Deputies were dispatched to Highway HH and Post Road.
Passenger Roberto Muniz, 17, of Hancock, was airlifted to Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. He is listed in good condition. Passengers Banda Francisco, 20, of Hancock, and Jorge Garcia, 24, of Bancroft were taken to Saint Michael's Hospital, the report said.
Another weekend crash resulted in a 61-year-old Little Chute man airlifted to Saint Joseph's Hospital after his vehicle hit a tree, according to a report from the Portage County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies were dispatched to the one-vehicle crash at 1:26 a.m. Sunday.
James S. Olson was cited for operating while intoxicated, failure to obey a stop sign and a seatbelt violation, the report said. He is listed in critical condition.
Olson was driving southbound on Highway 49 when he failed to stop at a stop sign on Highway 66. He continued southbound, hit an embankment and fence and came to rest after hitting a tree, the report said.
