Letters: Dialed Winnebago 911 and got no response

I followed an impaired young man home to Oshkosh on my way back from Tigerton last Saturday night. He was swerving all over the road and actually went off the road just past New London but was able to make it back to pavement again.

I called Winnebago 911 and it sounded like they were going to respond. I gave them a description of the vehicle along with the license plate. When we reached Highway 41 South and and there no response as he still swerved over both lanes of traffic.

I called again. I was told the now that we were more in the area that they may let an officer know now.

I think that no matter what an officer should have been made aware as this young man almost killed himself and numerous others. We need to respond to calls about impaired drivers before more people have to suffer.
