A 45-year-old Glenbeulah man charged after a fight with a woman is facing more than eight years in prison if convicted.

John K. Beck, N7086 Scenic View Drive, has been charged with felony strangulation and suffocation and felony intimidation of a victim as well as misdemeanor battery.

According to the criminal complaint:

The woman and Beck were arguing when Beck pushed her off the bed, hitting her head on a dresser, and then dragged her by the hair around the house.

He dragged her outside onto the deck, where he put his hands around her throat and choked her while threatening to kill her.

When he went back into the house he locked her out, finally letting her in after she pounded on the door. When she said she was going to call the police, he broke her phone in half and threw water on her.

She grabbed her purse and keys and drove to the first neighboring house that had lights on and asked the residents to call police for her.
