Editor's note: Every Monday, the Wausau Daily Herald features an opportunity for people seeking local employment.
The best thing about working at First Impressions is seeing terrified kids walk into the dental office and watching them later leave with big smiles on their faces, said Clinical Coordinator Crystal Mattson.
First Impressions, which primarily serves children, has offices in Wausau, Weston, Stevens Point, Rhinelander and Medford. The company is looking to add a dental assistant to its team.
The job: The dental assistant will help care for patients and work in all five First Impressions offices.
Requirements: No prior experience is required, although it is preferred. Unlike dental hygienists, dental assistants do not need college degrees. Mattson said First Impressions offers opportunities to develop and grow professionally.
Soft skills: The person must be fun and energetic and love to work with kids, Mattson said.
"We all get along so well; we all love what we do," Mattson said. "It's such a nice environment to be involved in."
Schedule: Though schedules vary depending on the dentist, in general, the dental assistant will put in a typical work week, with shorter hours Friday.
Compensation: Pay is competitive and a benefits package is offered.
To apply: Resumes can be sent to First Impressions, 413 N. 17th Ave., Wausau WI 54401, Attn: Crystal; or e-mailed to crystal@fidkids.com.
