The man killed in a one-vehicle crash Saturday night in the Town of Rhine has been identified as 44-year-old David Livengood of Howards Grove, according to the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department.

A Sheriff’s deputy came upon the crash just after 11:30 p.m. on county Highway A, west of state Highway 57 and found Livengood dead outside of his green 2001 Ford Expedition, Sgt. James Gottsacker said in a news release.

A preliminary investigation showed that the vehicle was eastbound on the county highway and went off the road on the shoulder. The driver apparently overcorrected and the vehicle crossed over the road and went into the ditch on the north side of the highway. It hit a culvert and overturned, ejecting the driver, before coming to rest on its wheels.

The Elkhart Lake Police Department and the Sheboygan County Coroner’s Office assisted the sheriffs department.
