College honors
Area students at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay received University Leadership Awards in spring. The awards acknowledge students' leadership activities and campus and community involvement throughout their UW-Green Bay careers. Recipients are: Laura Bartingale, Sarah Markham, Lea Padron, Anna Reedy, Joshua VandenBusch, Anton Williams, Green Bay; Bridget Koeshall, Wisconsin Rapids and Green Bay; Corey Livieri, Green Bay and Van Dyne; Jamie Stephenson, Green Bay and Beaver Dam; Steven Wicks, Manitowoc and Green Bay.
Bethany Kaufmann, daughter of Keith and Ann Kaufmann of Green Bay, received the American Institute of Chemists Award from Saint Mary's University, Winona, Minn., in spring.
UW-Green Bay sophomore Amy Zellner of Casco, was awarded a $6,000 Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship from the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. Zellner maintains a 3.83 grade-point average while majoring in human biology with a nutritional science emphasis and minors in Spanish. She is co-president of the campus Phi Eta Sigma chapter, a programmer and liaison for her campus residence hall, has volunteered for highway cleanup and the annual Jingle Bell Walk/Run. She mentors through the Big Brothers Big Sisters After School Program for Northeast Wisconsin, is a member of Habitat for Humanity, Campus Crusade for Christ and the UWGB Bowling Club.
