Update: Robert Roloff, 78, of Allouez, was man killed in U.S. 41 crash in Ashwaubenon

ASHWAUBENON — The driver killed in a three-vehicle crash Monday night on U.S. 41 has been identified as Robert Roloff, 78, of Allouez, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office said today.

Investigators say Roloff was driving a Toyota Highlander that was struck from behind by a semi-truck trailer being driven by Curtis Gitch, 50, of Iowa. Roloff’s vehicle then struck the rear of a Ford Explorer being driven by Jeffrey Halbrook, 47, Green Bay.

All were all traveling north on U.S. 41 when the crash occurred at 8:47 p.m. north of Glory Road. It was believed the Ford and Toyota were traveling under the speed limit at the time.

The Toyota and semi-trailer came to rest in the median. The Ford came to rest in the east ditch Roloff died at the scene. Halbrook and Gitch were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation. Any witnesses to this crash area asked to contact the Brown County Sheriff Office’s accident reconstruction unit at (920) 448-4382.
